Friday was a pretty epic nerd day. Actually, the past couple of weeks have been pretty epic!
I am taking another break from WoW… again. It feels good! My friends are doing the same, so it feels even better than before. I’m hoping it will finally give me a chance to get to all this stuff that I have had to do that’s just been building up for a while. It’s helped a little bit, but not as much as I’d hoped. I can blame that on getting more hours at work, though…
A couple weeks ago I got some more WoW miniatures with a 15% off coupon, and it was quite the nice haul. First of all, I got the Ashenvale game board, which means between Thomas and I, we have all three maps. Second, I got some green Ubases and dice with my deluxe box, so I can “legally” play as the monster faction. And third… I got a bunch of the mini’s that I wanted to get! Most of them are “common” but whatever. The best of which was CHEN STORMSTOUT! The Pandaren Brewmaster! He’s only an “uncommon” and not “rare”, but still, he has been one of the top on my wishlist. Now… for Thrall and Varimarthas….
Pokemon Platinum came out–and I love it (as expected)! I picked up the Walmart bundle. For no extra cost I got a new carrying case for my DS Lite and a neat little Giratina figurine.
Picked up the strategy guide too… if only because its so hueg! Something like 624 pages total, and only for $20. More than half of it is the Pokedex. Hehe. I’ve only ever bought four DS games now, and two of them are Pokemon.
My comic shop is having a big sale… coping with the bad economy and that. It sucks but it happens. I ended up buying all of the MechWarrior miniatures in the store at 35% off! I’ve always looked at picking them up. They look real nice, are very detailed, and I’ve always liked the MechWarrior computer games. I got the starter set, six booster packs, and five “special edition” mech pieces… 39 pieces in all. 13 battlemechs, 8 vehicles, and 18 infantry. Sucks, though… I was looking it up on the internet later in the evening and found out that the company who made the game, Wizkids, got shut down last November. Stupid economy. They also made a ton of other games too, including the HeroClix series. That seems rather huge of a loss… But oh well, I guess.
I’m still working on indexing all of my WoW cards. Its a slow project, with progress happening maybe once every week (or two). I decided to sorta revive my website idea for the trading cards, but I’m going to do it for the miniatures instead. There are FAR less mini’s than there are cards, so it would be much more managable and feesable to start with. Going with the cards right away seemed a little too ambitious… especially since I haven’t really been coding again for very often. Gotta start slow and build up the speed, right?
