I want to code again.

I miss PHP. :(

I have so many little project ideas that I want to start.  On top of that there are a ton that I started and abandoned, and then some more that I had played with ages ago that I want to revisit and remake.  I’m not playing WoW right now, and really have no desire to anytime soon, so now would be a good time.

Too bad my TODO list has just piled up over the past couple of months (or even years, really…)

First and foremost, though, if I’m gonna start coding again I need to get my epic desk back.  My sister is wanting to part ways with 2/3 of it.  But first I need to… clean my room, finish up a bunch of nerd projects laying around my room, see if I can fit the desk in here, and then actually tear everything down and begin the moving process.  Throw the job and my seemingly flawless skill of procrastination into the mix and things aren’t looking too good for making a whole lot of progress anytime soon. >_<

A man can dream though.

Epic nerd win!

Friday was a pretty epic nerd day.  Actually, the past couple of weeks have been pretty epic!

I am taking another break from WoW… again.  It feels good!  My friends are doing the same, so it feels even better than before.  I’m hoping it will finally give me a chance to get to all this stuff that I have had to do that’s just been building up for a while.  It’s helped a little bit, but not as much as I’d hoped.  I can blame that on getting more hours at work, though… :)

A couple weeks ago I got some more WoW miniatures with a 15% off coupon, and it was quite the nice haul.  First of all, I got the Ashenvale game board, which means between Thomas and I, we have all three maps.  Second, I got some green Ubases and dice with my deluxe box, so I can “legally” play as the monster faction. And third… I got a bunch of the mini’s that I wanted to get!  Most of them are “common” but whatever.  The best of which was CHEN STORMSTOUT! The Pandaren Brewmaster!  He’s only an “uncommon” and not “rare”, but still, he has been one of the top on my wishlist.  Now… for Thrall and Varimarthas….

Pokemon Platinum came out–and I love it (as expected)!  I picked up the Walmart bundle.  For no extra cost I got a new carrying case for my DS Lite and a neat little Giratina figurine. :)   Picked up the strategy guide too… if only because its so hueg!  Something like 624 pages total, and only for $20.  More than half of it is the Pokedex.  Hehe.  I’ve only ever bought four DS games now, and two of them are Pokemon.

My comic shop is having a big sale… coping with the bad economy and that.  It sucks but it happens.  I ended up buying all of the MechWarrior miniatures in the store at 35% off!  I’ve always looked at picking them up.  They look real nice, are very detailed, and I’ve always liked the MechWarrior computer games.  I got the starter set, six booster packs, and five “special edition” mech pieces… 39 pieces in all.  13 battlemechs, 8 vehicles, and 18 infantry.  Sucks, though… I was looking it up on the internet later in the evening and found out that the company who made the game, Wizkids, got shut down last November.  Stupid economy.  They also made a ton of other games too, including the HeroClix series.  That seems rather huge of a loss…  But oh well, I guess.

I’m still working on indexing all of my WoW cards.  Its a slow project, with progress happening maybe once every week (or two).  I decided to sorta revive my website idea for the trading cards, but I’m going to do it for the miniatures instead.  There are FAR less mini’s than there are cards, so it would be much more managable and feesable to start with.  Going with the cards right away seemed a little too ambitious… especially since I haven’t really been coding again for very often.  Gotta start slow and build up the speed, right?

“Today’s BEST Music!”

Local radio DJ Captain Jack’s favorite bands are as follows:

  • AC/DC
  • Jimmy Hendrix
  • AC/DC
  • Hinder
  • Black Sabbath
  • Jimmy Hendrix
  • Nickelback
  • AC/DC
  • Jimmy Hendrix

At least, thats the impression I get when I wake up every morning to the commercial free block of music.

Gotta love how every “modern rock” radio station has to throw the oldies in all the time.  “Todays BEST music!”  Yeah.  Right.

And then I bit down….

(1:24:59 AM) Sunny: gross
(1:25:06 AM) Sunny: I accidentally ate a green jelly bean
(1:25:09 AM) Sunny: God damn it
(1:25:20 AM) Jesus: i take it they’re pretty nasty?
(1:25:28 AM) Sunny: yeah
(1:25:32 AM) Sunny: Just barely tolerable
(1:25:39 AM) Sunny: they’re “APPLE”
(1:25:41 AM) Sunny: more like
(1:25:44 AM) Sunny: “CRAPPLE”
(1:25:47 AM) Jesus: loo
(1:25:50 AM) Sunny: I thought it was blue so i was all pumped
(1:25:53 AM) Sunny: and then i bit down
(1:25:56 AM) Sunny: and my world fell apart
(1:26:03 AM) Jesus: BLARG TIME

Watchmæn

Went to the midnight show of Watchmen.  Verdict? Not perfect, but enjoyable.

For the most part it followed the book very well.  Ending was changed up a bit but it overall seemed to make more sense this way for being a movie, especially for the “non-fans”.  Completely painting Ozymandias as a clear-cut villain was a bad thing, though.

Rorschach’s acting was perfect.  Every scene with him always seemed very strong.  He was exactly how I envisioned him while reading the book, all the way down to the voice.  The other actor’s performances seemed to be… alright.

I was kinda suprised that they didn’t cover up Dr. Manhattan’s… nakedness.  Typical Hollywood would just be like “less dong, moar boobz!” Thats another thing.  They didn’t seem to add any more tits, either.  Color me astounded.  They did seem to draw the sex scene out for quite a while though…

The cuts from the story worked very well.  None of it seemed to take away from the story.  A lot of the Minutemen stuff was covered in the opening credits (which were indeed rather cool).

I don’t know what else to say, so thats all for now.
